The “ZERO GRAVITY” articulated arms

UPT, Italian dealer of the KHAMA-TECH brand, presents the “ZERO GRAVITY”: articulated arms designed to completely neutralize the weight of tools and equipments in machining operations.

In the sheet metal world, working and carpentry in general, the direction is increasingly oriented towards robotics and automation. Making it easier for operators in the sector therefore becomes a priority to keep up with technological evolution. In this perspective, UPT is offering the “Zero Gravity” articulated arm at its booth at Lamiera 2025, a solution designed to assist the operator in lifting and handling operations.

The articulated arms of the ZGD-ZGT series have been designed to completely neutralize the heavy and prolonged weight of tools such as grinders, screwdrivers, drills and markers.

Thanks to the counter-balanced gas pistons, the movement is balanced, fluid and comfortable in any working position. The acronym ZGD identifies the double articulated arm with a working field of 1,350 mm, while ZGT refers to the triple arm model, which extends the operating field up to 2,000 mm.

Both models reduce the weight of the mounted tool to zero, with adjustable gas springs to adapt to different types of equipment: grinders, portable or circular saws and numerous other applications. The lockable version of the series maintains the same balance characteristics as the standard version, with the addition of a special lock that allows the equipment to be kept at a fixed height, while simultaneously allowing 360° rotation across the entire work area.

The manipulator can be equipped with customized gripping systems based on the specific needs of the user: pneumatic gripper, manual gripper, vacuum system or suction cup and magnet. This versatility allows adaptation to a wide range of components and processes.

During the trade fair, UPT will present a practical demonstration of the system’s potential: an articulated arm configured to serve glasses of drinks, intuitively illustrating the precision and fluidity of the movements that characterize this technology.
