After the difficulties experienced in 2020, in 2021, the world industry of the sector has started to grow again, as highlighted by the international trade data concerning the commercial exchanges of sheet metal forming machines and nonconventional machining technologies. In the first half of 2021, exports and imports indeed registered double-digit increases, as a testimony to the dynamic worldwide demand.

In particular, in the first six months of 2021, the world exports of sheet metal forming machines tools and metal cutting machines, (using nontraditional machining technologies, such as laser, waterjet, plasma, etc.) recorded a 16% upturn compared with the same period of the previous year, attaining over 7 billion euro. Imports also grew by 12%, almost reaching 6 billion euro.

In this positive framework, Italy has shown even better performances, reporting an upswing of about 30% in the exports of sheet metal machining technologies and an 11% rise in imports, which proves the great opportunities that LAMIERA 2022 will offer to its exhibiting companies.
